Are you looking for a great place to volunteer behind the scenes and during the week? If you have administrative skills and a heart to serve, you can put your talents and passions to work by serving at our VRL office. We welcome people with flexible schedules and administrative experience. Find your perfect fit.

• OFFICE RECEPTIONIST – Create a relational and welcoming environment to guests who visit or call our office.
• ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS – Assist our admin team with organizing areas or files, inventorying and restocking supplies, updating and editing documents, data entry, and other admin tasks.
• HUMAN RESOURCES – Do you have a background in Human Resources and would love to help with research projects, benefits, policy creation, liability insurance, recognition and retention? We would love to have you on our team.

Baptism Team

Multiple baptisms happen each week. A baptism assistant will greet people when they come to get baptized, process their information, and help them find clothing as they prepare to get baptized. Once completed, you get the opportunity to hand them a towel and celebrate with them. Finally, you will get to help them light a bulb on the cross and connect them to their next step. This ministry is at the heart of the church and this is a very special opportunity!

Celebrate Recovery

As this ministry continues to grow, we need more and more volunteer help. You can do support work like bringing cookies, doing set-up, serving or providing dinner, helping with tech needs, or cleaning up. You can also be more active in the actual ministry by greeting people at the door, checking them in, helping with worship, or being part of the prayer team. Finally, you can help by becoming a leader in the ministry by getting trained. Above all, please commit to praying for lives to be changed!

Connections Team

Sometimes getting people in the door is the easy part. Getting them to come back and connect is a bit more difficult. Our hope is that every person that visits receives a phone call from someone at the church. Would you consider making a few phone calls each week and connecting with people new to VRL? Engaging others is critical, and you can even do it from your home! VRL is a relational church and this first impression is key.

Data | Dev | IT

Can you develop software or manage servers? Are you detail-oriented and able to spot data errors? Our church has a lot of IT needs and is looking for people who have the skills and passion to help with projects that include inventory, software updates, coding, and management. We’re also looking for people who just enjoy computer work and would like to keep our records up to date and accurate.

Global Outreach

Consider going on one of our many short-term mission trips to support the work of our ministry partners around the globe. Even if travel isn’t an option for you right now, we still need help sending our teams by supporting them in prayer, raising finances, and gathering supplies. Throughout the year we have different initiatives to support our international work, and we need help making it happen! You could help with our Christmas gifts to partners, or our Christmas Eve offering, or a variety of other events. We offer training, vision-casting, and team reports throughout the year that we would love to have you be a part of. Above all, we need people committed to praying for each of our partners.

Marketing

We’re seeking volunteers to bring the VRL story to life through photography, graphic design, copywriting, and social media.

• Photography: Capture moments from services, events, and ministries that showcase what God is doing at VRL.
• Graphic Design: Create engaging visuals for screens, print, and social media.
• Copywriting: Write and proof clear, inspiring content that connects with our church family.
• Social Media: Engage our online community by creating, scheduling, and posting content.

Each role helps advance VRL’s mission: Reaching the world for Jesus, one person at a time.

Production Tech

Do you love audio, video, lighting, cameras, or technology? No matter your experience, we have a place for you! Our varied roles include:

• Audio – Mix the worship band, play videos, manage pre- and post-service music, and help create a distraction-free worship experience.
• Video – Operate a camera, choose camera shots, help with online service hosting, and enhance services and events with image magnification.
• Lighting – Program or just operate auditorium and stage lighting for a seamless and engaging worship experience.
• Content – Ensure the right words are on the screen at the right time during worship and lessons, work transitions within service, play videos, and keep the service content on track.
• Service Production – Make sure every detail of Audio, Video, Lighting, and Content flows smoothly, and help the various production team members with cues for each part of the service.

Safety Team

Do you have a background in keeping people safe, managing event crowds, or looking after the welfare of groups of people? Do you have a medical background that allows you to provide care for minor injuries, CPR, or other emergencies? If so, we need you! Join our safety teams today!

• Security – Provide for the safety and security of the church in a relational environment during church services, weekly ministries and special events. Law Enforcement and prior military preferred, but not required.
• Medical – Medical team members are available during church services and special events to assist with a wide range of medical issues. Nurses, physicians, EMT’s and paramedics are preferred for this team.
• Parking – Help with the flow of traffic for a smooth transition between busy services.

Staff Care

Are you looking for ways to love and care for our incredible staff at VRL? We have several practical ways you can put this passion into action.

• STAFF MEETING MEALS – Do you love to cook and express your love through food? Plan, shop for, cook and serve lunch for our monthly staff meetings (40 people) on the second Tuesday of each month at noon (on a rotating basis). Expenses are reimbursed.
• SHOPPING FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS – Do you love to shop? We have ways you can put this passion into action. We need shoppers to purchase items for monthly special occasions. We provide the shopping list and all expenses are reimbursed.
• MONTHLY STAFF APPRECIATION DAYS – Are you creative, love to encourage, and organize special treats or events? We can put your creativity and organizational skills to work.

Videography

If you have a passion for video, we can use you! We have a variety of areas to get you plugged into, including:

• Videographer – Capture video of life-change stories, ministry events, or church promotional items.
• Director – Help see videos to completion including filming, music, dialogue, editing, and final cuts.
• Editor – Help edit videos that have been captured, use special effects, and choose sounds and shots with the director to best engage viewers.

VRL Compassion

Part of being a church family is caring for the needs of others. VRL COMPASSION has several care teams that range from financial guidance and education to preparing meals for the sick to hospital visitations to home repairs for those who are vulnerable. You can even provide help with memorials for grieving families. If you are wired to help people feel God's love by helping in practical ways then join our team today.

Worship Team

Can you sing or play a musical instrument? We need you! We have worship opportunities in our weekend services, at Celebrate Recovery, and in a host of other areas throughout our ministries. We also need worship leaders that can lead the band, coach vocalists, help musicians through practice, and generally create a seamless worship set that leads and engages the congregation in worship.

Whether you like to be up front or behind the scenes, we have a variety of service opportunities on the Student Ministry Team! Whether it’s volunteering at Midweek on Wednesday nights in a loud, interactive, and engaging environment, leading students into a deeper relationship with Jesus and their peers in a Sunday night small group environment, assisting with large events, or just helping with weekly administrative tasks, we have a place for you. We’re looking for people with a wide variety of skills across every beautiful season our region has to offer. We need people to help with landscaping, groundskeeping, building maintenance and repair, snow removal, special events, and more. There’s a place for everyone!

Guest Experience

The Guest Experience Team is all about exceeding our guests’ expectations. We have a variety of roles available including:

• Greeters – Help guests feel welcomed and seen by holding doors open and guiding them to places in the building.
• Ushers – Help people find seats and make sure there is room for their entire family in the auditorium.
• Café – Make coffee, serve pastries, make breakfast, all while smiling and interacting with people.
• Connecting Point – Welcome visitors to VRL, Help people find places to belong and serve, answer questions, and help others take their next step.
• Parking – Help with the flow of traffic for a smooth transition between busy services and events.
